Mission Assistant Across the Velora Suite

Velora's Mission Assistant across products: the Mission Assistant home screen, in-product chat, an automation workflow, and AI Bill Entry

Nonprofit teams have no shortage of important administrative work. Entering bills, following up with donors, understanding campaign results, and preparing board updates all take time, and often from the same small team.

Velora is a nonprofit operations suite built to help teams do more good with what they have. And Mission Assistant is the AI layer we’re building across that suite, bringing more guidance and less manual effort to everyday nonprofit work.

You’ll find it in different forms: an assistant that helps explain your data, a feature that prepares bill details for review, or a suggested workflow that helps you get donor outreach started. Different experiences, with a shared purpose: helping your team move work forward while keeping you in control.

A purpose-built AI platform for nonprofit work

Alongside its role inside Velora products, Mission Assistant is its own purpose-built nonprofit AI platform. Today, teams can upload files and follow guided workflows to work through tasks such as preparing a board summary or getting support with donation reconciliation.

That’s the starting point for a broader vision. We’re building Mission Assistant to support cross-product intelligence across the Velora suite, helping nonprofits bring financial, fundraising, and donor information into context, understand what needs attention, and prepare clearer next steps without piecing everything together by hand.

As Mission Assistant becomes more connected across Velora, our goal is to bring more of your organization’s context into that work, with your team reviewing outputs and deciding what happens next.

How Mission Assistant is showing up across Velora

Velora Fund Accounting: Less typing, more clarity

Entering vendor invoices is necessary work, but retyping the details doesn’t need to take up so much of your day.

AI Bill Entry, powered by Mission Assistant, extracts details from an uploaded invoice and pre-fills the bill form. It also uses your nonprofit’s own general ledger history—including how you’ve coded expenses across funds, accounts, and tags—to suggest coding based on past transactions and vendor patterns.

That means the assistance goes beyond reading an invoice: it draws on how your nonprofit actually organizes its finances to help reduce repetitive coding work. Your team reviews and edits the details and suggested coding before submitting the bill through the normal accounting workflow.

For questions about your finances, the in-product Mission Assistant chat experience helps you understand available reporting data. It’s another way to get clarity on the numbers while working in your accounting tools.

Velora CRM: From donor outreach ideas to workflows you can use

Knowing you want to build stronger donor relationships is one thing. Turning that goal into a follow-up plan (with the right audience, timing, and steps) is another.

Within Velora CRM’s automation experience, Mission Assistant helps turn your donor engagement goals into a drafted email outreach workflow. Your team can describe an outcome, such as welcoming first-time donors or re-engaging past supporters, and get a draft automation sequence to review rather than building every step from scratch.

The guidance continues as you refine the workflow. You can describe audience criteria, such as “first-time donors only,” or the conditions for different follow-up paths in plain language. Mission Assistant helps translate those requests into workflow rules that your team can inspect and adjust.

Mission Assistant also suggests donor-engagement workflows tailored to your data, with a short explanation of why each idea was suggested. These suggestions help bridge the gap between the information in your CRM and a practical outreach plan, giving your team ideas to consider without having to invent every journey yourself.

Before anything goes live, your team reviews the steps, selects the emails you’ve prepared, and completes any missing setup. Workflows remain drafts until you explicitly review and activate them.

Together, these capabilities show what we’re building toward: donor engagement that’s easier to plan and put into practice, with less technical setup between knowing what you want to do and getting it ready to run. Mission Assistant helps with the groundwork; your team stays in charge of the relationship.

Velora Fundraising: Understand how your campaigns compare

Knowing how much a campaign raised is important. Knowing whether that result is strong (and where to look more closely) makes the information more useful.

Mission Assistant in Velora Fundraising is an AI-powered chatbot that helps your team explore campaign performance through straightforward questions. And with campaign benchmarking, you can look beyond your own results to understand how your fundraising results compare with similar campaigns.

Rather than relying on a single platform-wide average, benchmarking draws on pooled, anonymized campaign data, using relevant characteristics such as campaign type, country, and fundraising range to make comparisons more meaningful. Mission Assistant helps explain where your results sit relative to the comparison group’s median and typical performance range.

Your team can ask questions like:

  • “How does this campaign compare with similar campaigns?”
  • “Is our average donation above or below the benchmark?”
  • “Where are we performing above or below the typical range?”

‍

That context helps you move from reporting numbers to asking more useful questions. If average donation is strong but total fundraising is behind comparable campaigns, your team has a reason to investigate participation or donation volume.

Where there isn’t enough data for a reliable comparison, Mission Assistant says so rather than forcing a result.

The chatbot helps your team understand performance. It doesn’t change your campaign or take action on your behalf. You bring the fundraising judgment. Mission Assistant brings more context to the conversation.

One AI layer, growing across the suite

These experiences are early building blocks. Today, each piece helps with a specific part of nonprofit work. Over time, we’re building toward more connected assistance across the Velora suite.

The goal isn’t simply to put AI in more places. It’s to make the work in those places easier: less repetitive entry, a more useful starting point, and clear information when your team needs to make a decision.

That’s the role of Mission Assistant across Velora: practical support for the work behind your mission, with your team still making the call.
